I got up, made myself a bagel, washed up quickly and let the dogs out. While I was feeding, Terry was giving Terrance drivers Ed. Teaching him how to chain up tires, change a flat tire and they took the trailer down the road so Terrance could get used to driving with the chains.
While they were gone, Hoback started acting weird. He was lying on the ground like he didnt know where he was. So I decided to take him inside the cabin.
I called Kira and she said it sounded like a seizure, but wasn't sure... (You cant really diagnose something over the phone) So I called the All Paws vet clinic in Whitehorse and got him in at 1:00pm.
The boys got back and we made our way to the vet clinic. We waited for about an hour and a half before we saw the vet. She looked him over and said it was a seizure and gave me fenobarb to prevent anymore. Well the problem is, you are only supposed to give that to dogs who have seizures regularly.
We left there feeling like we wasted a bunch of time and went to the food drops. It was fast and easy, thanks to all of the volunteers there!
We then went for lunch at a restaurant called ricki's. it was not too bad! When we were done eating we went to Pete's house for a shower (Pete is an old friend of Uncle Terry's). I was starting to worry about Hoback who was still in the back seat. He had no energy and was more calm then a fat kid sleeping. Then I got a call from the vet who wanted me to bring him back for a pee sample. So we left Uncle Terry at Pete's and went back to the vets. The more time that went by the worse he looked. She did bloodwork on him and a pee sample. Both came back fine, other then him being slightly dehydrated. So she hooked him up to IV fluids and gave him some vodka and we left him there for the night. She's convinced he got antifreeze poisoning... But from where? There's no way he could of got into that, when they aren't in their kennels they are outside with me... Fully supervised!
We left the vets and went back to Pete's for a shower. It was soooooo nice having a long hot shower!
Back to the cabin, let the dogs out, feed the dogs, put them away, get ready for bed, feeling stomach sick over this day. Hoping Hoback is back to himself tomorrow.
